Megan Gallagher Affiliated Scholar

Megan Gallagher is a Principal Research Associate at the Urban Institute with over two decades of experience in public policy research focused on how communities affect children and families, including through place-based initiatives that promote economic mobility. Megan has led research projects and technical assistance efforts related to housing, education partnerships, and community development, including work with federal agencies and state and local agencies across the country. Her research expertise spans survey design, outcome measurement, and policy analysis. She is also an accomplished author and speaker, contributing to academic publications, policy reports, and national conferences. She holds a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Welfare from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
