The UCLA Center for the Transformation of Schools was founded in 2017 to meet some of the most pressing needs of school systems: to be a thought partner for stakeholders and school systems that can help design and implement equitable strategies to support student learning, particularly for schools serving students in poverty and students of color.
Schools often struggle to meet the academic, social, emotional, health and developmental needs of students and address issues like trauma, mental health, and homelessness. We offer tools and supports for school systems willing to embrace more holistic models of learning and work with a cohort of educational leaders to utilize strategies to initiate smarter and more effective approaches to help schools get better at getting better.
