Adriana Jaramillo Castillo Research Analyst, Community Schools

Adriana Jaramillo Castillo works as a research analyst at UCLA’s Center for the Transformation of Schools (CTS), part of the California Community Schools Partnership Project. Her responsibilities include advancing research on R-TAC, community schooling, and various evaluation and implementation initiatives. Before her current role at CTS, Adriana was a research consultant at UnidosUS, a Latinx non-profit advocacy organization, and a research assistant for the Pullias Center for Higher Education at the University of Southern California (USC).

During her time at UnidosUS, Adriana focused on reimagining post-secondary education pathways and K-12 policies, emphasizing the importance of expanding support and equitable access to Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities for Black and Latinx youth seeking higher education and diverse career pathways. At the Pullias Center, she contributed to research projects that addressed educational access and equity issues in higher education. Her work supported initiatives like men of color retention programs, support systems for community college student parents, and centering the experiences of formerly incarcerated and system-impacted students.

Adriana is skilled in synthesized data analysis, conducting extensive literature reviews, applying innovative theoretical frameworks, and managing datasets. Her work continuously contributes to enhancing discourse around educational equity and access in both K-12 and higher education.

She holds a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Education with a specialization in Higher Education and Organizational Change, both from UCLA.
