A new administration and changing political landscape has triggered great instability in schools and communities across the country. It is also creating new opportunities for innovation and change. The need for public schools to be responsive to the children and families they serve, and to provide pathways to opportunity is essential.
Now is the time to reaffirm our commitment to a public education system that promotes tolerance, justice and solidarity across differences, and inspires young people to think critically and creatively about possibilities for our future.
On November 9th at UCLA we explored possibilities for reimagining the potential of education to empower the next generation of learners and consider new approaches for supporting the academic, social, emotional and health needs of all students. On November 8th at UCLA we held a free youth and community public forum.
